Abandoned trailer park/low-rent motel motor court.

Looking at this bed makes me think of its history, the action it has seen, the drunken trysts, furtive cheating, desperate attempts to clutch some sliver of feeling. The 3 a.m. backhanded smacks, draped over the edge and heaving onto the already stained carpet, weakly calling after the slammed door and retreating footsteps. Or that insatiable need, shoveling sex and booze and drugs into that bottomless hole, the craving, the insensible grasping, teasing fleeting pleasure out of chafed and raw bodies, ultimately empty and devoid of emotion. Or, at the other end of it, lovers driven to a tawdry cave of secrecy, finding and creating something there that they can't find in the rest of their lives, building it up into something made all the more precious because of its inevitable ending. Holding each other, slick with the sweat of their exertions, knowing that the hours are ticking away and that check out time will soon roll around. History.
